課程概述 |
This is a practical course in Chinese to English translation, covering the translation of various text types. |
|
課程目標 |
1. Eliminate basic English grammatical errors, develop a sense of idiomatic English.
2. Apply syntactical, literary, generic and rhetorical analysis to CE translation
3. Develop a sense of professionalism, which is to say principled survival strategies and an understanding of the role a translator plays in society. |

class leadership, taking charge of class for 1 week, from text selection to comparison. |

weekly homework |
50% |
weekly homework of 500 to 1000 'words', with notes, to be discussed and revised in class, weekly Error Analysis Table (EAT), which you fill in in WORD and print out to show me after you receive your homework back; save the homeworks and the EATs and hand them in as a portfolio at the midterm and final. We'll keep track of the EATs in an EXCEL file. |
